Who is Susan Cary?
As someone with a Nordic background, I come from a heritage seeped in the tradition of using runes as a tool for seeking guidance. I have always been aware of this tradition; but it wasn’t until I was more than half way through my life that I discovered I had a magical talent for reading runes and using the readings to help others live their best lives.
For the most part, mine is and has been a conventional lifestyle. I was born into a middle class family to parents who were college-educated. Consequently, higher education was a valued commodity, as were the societal norms of completing school, getting a good job, finding a proper marriage partner, and then having a family…. In that order. I followed the “company lines”and did all of the above. Then, one day when I was ten years into my marriage, with two small children, my husband announced that he wanted a divorce.
If you happen to be someone who has been through a divorce, or even a bad relationship break-up, you may know that it can be a gut-wrenching experience. It was all I could do to get through my daily responsibilities.
Recognizing my pain, a friend referred me to a healer who gave workshops on how to deal with losses in life. I was skeptical; but I was desperate to find some relief. So I agreed to take the workshop. It was through that workshop that I stumbled on my identity as a Norwegian witch and my gift for reading runes.
After the workshop, it was as if the floodgates had opened. I spent all my spare time studying the runic tradition and practicing the art of reading runes. My exploration even led me on a pilgrimage to Vardo, Norway, a small fishing village 250 miles north of the Arctic Circle at the farthest most eastern point of the country. Situated there is the Steilneset Memorial. It’s a monument constructed in the 21st century, in memory of 91 Norwegian witches who and were drowned or burned at the stake in the 1600s.
When I visited the monument and read their stories, I discovered that even though these witches were convicted of using runic practices for so-called dark witchcraft, many of them were also known for their ability to heal people in pain. I felt a strong spiritual connection to the witches and their healing energy. I left the Memorial vowing to openly own my status as a Norwegian witch and my spiritual talent for reading runes.

Since then, I have continued to refine and improve my practice. I have used the readings as a tool for helping people find the path to leading their best lives. The results have proven rewarding to both me and to those who’ve received readings. It is my heartfelt hope and will be my honor if I can also serve you, and help you on your journey to finding all that life has to offer you.
